PBJ Announcement

At the moment, Eddie is concentrating on his acting career but is planning a World Tour incorporating Europe, the USA and Canada for Autumn 2003, finishing up in UK/Ireland at the end of 2003 or beginning of 2004. We are in the process of organising this tour but we will not be able to announce the tour dates until the tickets are ready to go on sale at the theatre box offices, so any announcements are a long time off at the moment - rest assured however that the minute we can let you all know, we will. We are also planning an exclusive booking period for members of the mailing list prior to the tickets going on sale to the general public. Again, info about this will be put up onto the site (and the PBJ Management site) as soon as possible, so please do not e-mail or call the PBJ Management office, as we will not respond.

Eddie is planning to release the film of the material taken from the show, `Circle', in the UK in Autumn 2002, on video and DVD. We do plan to release it in NTSC format but that date is still to be confirmed. There are also plans to re-release Eddie's earlier material on DVD in the future, but again, no definite dates.
Finally, the izzard.com site is currently being redesigned and upgraded, so please bear with us.

Amnesty International

Sunday 3rd June was the day. Wembley Arena was where it happened. The events of that night were amazing. Comedians and musicians from all over the world gathered with one aim in mind. To raise money for one of the most worth while charities, Amnesty International.
The whole show kicked off with Eddie for about 30 minutes and then he linked between each performer throughout the show.
Phil Jupitus caught the moment with an excellent impression of Eddie and then avoided a flying bottle of water from.....guess who!

Harry Hill, Simon Day, Sean Lock, Richard Blackwood and Jonathon Ross also contributed to the comedy along with the cast from Goodness Gracious Me who all managed to leave the audience falling off our seats with laughter.

The music from Stereophonics, Badly Drawn Boy and Tom Jones was amazing.

Dom Joly amused us with shagging rabbits, abusive squirrels and, of course, that big phone! Harry Enfield showed us more from some of his brilliant characters, with another unforgetable line 'Oi! Izzard! NO!'

The Four Yorkshire men sketch, originally from Monty Pythin, featuring Eddie, Vic Reeves, Harry Enfield and Alan Rickman left everyone in stitches, especially Eddie!!!

But then at the end, the whole message of the show was remembered and why we were all there. It's easy to forget when you're being entertained for 3 hours but the message hit home at the end and it was quite emotional, as some political prisoners that had been released with the help of Amnesty came on stage and were greated with hugs from Eddie and all the performers.

All in all, it was an absolutly brilliant show but we musn't forget what it was all about. If you want to become a memebr of Amnesty or want to donate money, look at the We Know Where You Live Website
for details.

Tour dates

At the moment, Eddie is concentrating on his acting career so I don't think there is a tour planned until towards the end of next year. As soon as tour dates are announced I will put them up on this page, so watch this space!

Circle is the latest show from Eddie Izzard.

What the critics have been saying about it:

In this tour, Eddie Izzard has performed in cities such as Boston, Chicago and Philadelphia for the first time, as well as New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The Chicago Tribune said,
"Izzard lives up to his billing. He's very bright, very fast and very hip."
The Boston Herald noted,
"The dizzying pace of his wildly discursive, stream-of-consciousness monologues was a joy ride."
The Boston Globe raved,
"Izzard's one-man 'Circle' is a raucous treat. He's also an astute writer who plants verbal seeds early in the show, and patiently awaits their blooms at evening's end. One of Izzard's greatest assets is that he treats the audience with respect. He has become a terrific performer of his own material-a comic who's become an actor,"
The Toronto Star described "Circle" as "a breathless, brilliant, risk-taking two hours."
The Harvard Lampoon recently presented Eddie with an award for "Best Purveyor of Surreal Bollocks" while he was in Boston for his six-night run at the 57 Theatre. Past winners of this award were Natalie Wood, John Wayne, George Foreman, Bill Cosby, Robin Williams, John Candy, Chevy Chase and Tom Wolfe. Eddie recieved his award at the infamous Lampoon Castle by the staff of the world's oldest humor magazine originally founded in 1876.
